Tonin Lighthouse by snowmobile

East coast, frozen waterfalls and the lighthouse at Cape Tonin. We start from our base, not from town.

Duration
6 hours
Distance
95 km
Difficulty
Moderate
Group
2–8 people
Season
December — March

We leave Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for the Sea of Okhotsk so we catch the morning light on the coast. The machines are new: snowmobiles are serviced before every run, helmets and goggles are clean, and we issue the suits on site.

The route follows ice and untouched snow along the shore to Tonin Lighthouse. Along the way — frozen waterfalls, ice sheets and views of open sea. Lunch at a field camp: hot klopovka (Sakhalin berry) tea, soup and snacks.
